What the heck do you do outside of this place?
I work for Enterprise Holdings in the Fleet Management division as a Supervisor. For fun, I am super busy with family activities, sometimes it feels like we live at the hockey rink! If you follow any of my social media you will also see my obsession with my pup, Lana. She is a one-year-old Doberman who has TONS of energy so she really keeps me active!
What’s something not everyone knows about you?
I am from Erie, PA and moved to STL 10 years ago.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Buffalo chicken dip gets me EVERY TIME.
What’s a goal you’re working toward?
I am definitely still trying to be comfortable in my own skin and be proud of myself for the work I am putting towards it.
What’s the hardest fitness-related thing that you’re always working on?
Strict pull-ups. One day I will get one! I am determined.
Why are you so passionate about food and nutrition?
My passion for health and fitness started many years ago and has been a major part of my life. I decided to start B Inspired Nutrition because I learned from a lot of my own nutritional mistakes and having a fear of food. It took many coaches and a lot of self-development work to finally get my head on straight and realize what I was doing was not right. I studied and researched nutrition and it was and still is a part of my everyday life. I decided to become certified so I can help people just like I was helped. I want to help guide people to believe in themselves, get the outcomes they are looking for, and truly become the best version of themselves. I am a previous teacher and currently a corporate supervisor with a passion for expanding and sharing knowledge to develop others.
How does our relationship with food affect our goals?
Nutrition is not one size fits all. It is important to align what you want personally in fitness and/or life to make sure you’re supporting that with the food you feed your body. It’s important to remember to not fear food (like I did). Also, key takeaway: eat the cookie… not the box of cookies.
What’s an easy thing that we can start today to get ourselves in check?
Write down a goal and 5 daily actions that you can take TODAY that will help you move closer to that goal.
What’s a common mistake you see? Diets. Diets don’t work long-term. Lifestyle changes do.
What don’t we know, that we should know? Eating food is more nutritious than taking vitamins or nutritional supplements!
