We sat down with Isil – a trainer herself – and asked her the pressing questions so you could get to know her a little better.
Member since: April 2022 (though the date is slightly debatable because she left for a brief stint and then came back)
Preferred class time: I usually go to either 9:30 am or 4:15 pm classes. I try to make it there at least three times a week. Ideally, I would like to go more but my schedule is pretty packed so I do my own workouts whenever I can squeeze in on the other days.
What the heck do you do outside of this place?
I’m a personal trainer. I’m also a part-time nanny and in school to become a Physical Therapy Assistant
What’s something not everyone knows about you? I am from Turkey and I came to the states as an Au pair for the first time.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Pizza, cookies and craft beer
What’s a goal you’re working toward?
Getting stronger and better with my form on snatches, cleans and overhead squats. Also, being able to do bar muscles up, eventually ring muscle up!
What’s your favorite workout?
I like partner workouts, I feel like I push extra hard feeling accountable to my partner.
What’s the hardest fitness-related thing that you’re always working on?
Snatches, cleans and overhead squats.
Why did you join Blues City?
I saw BCA’s Instagram and I was impressed to see the dedicated coaches and athletes. I figured it would be a great place to be part of for me for growing and learning from all the great coaches and athletes.
What’s your favorite part about Blues City (What? We had to ask!)?
I would say the knowledge of the coaches and their support towards each person.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about starting CrossFit and/or joining BCA?
They should go for it because BCA is a place full of great coaches and people who support each other on this journey we are all on.
